I always go big on the reel so i would go for the 20.
a pt10 will hold all the 8 or 10 lb line you could need if you like light gear. l use 8 and 10 all the time and have one quantum among all my reels. it is a good reel. l’ve gotten bass over 13 lb on 8 so unless you’re fishing in really snag infested waters, you don’t need to go too heavy. lighter line gets bit much better!
the quantum energy is a spinning reel on sale at:

In my opinion for bass fishing you want the backbone of a Med / heavy action conventional pitching stick rod and baitcaster (quantum synergy) reel….. so I can not answer your question without trying to change your mind about going with a spinning set-up. If you ask every angler who fishes with bait casting reels what is the number one problem they noticed or had when they switched from spinning to bait casting and they will all say that they wished they had made the change years earlier.
Nether, I personally love the Abu Garcia Black Max. I have caught hundreds of bass on it and its never faild me.
