I can’t say how this rod performs because it arrived broken. Normally, Amazon does a good job packaging their products. But this was the pits! Instead on shipping it in a tube or triangular box, it was laid on a long piece of cardboard, with the corrugations running at right angles to the rod. The ends were folded over and glued down, resulting in a flat package with almost no support. I am sending it back for a replacement, but I would advise anyone wanting to buy this item to do so from a local store. If my replacement arrives packaged better, I’ll write an update.
