Not really an opinion just a fact ~ had one of their Vertex models (rod) break on me ~ big “Bow” aka Rainbow Trout. No problem though they replaced it and she’s been fishin’ for me ever since (6yrs.)

I really like there rods. I had a pinnacle vision and an spx rod and they are top notch. there customer service is second to none as well. But there reels are not very reliable they use inferior bearings and parts. there high ballbearing reels are no smother than a good old abu garcia C4 (four bearings) the trick is the quality of the bearings not the quantity. there high end reels are good but I understand they do wear down due to inferior components. it makes sense that there reels with 12 bearings cost as much as any reputable companys 4 bearing reel just look at diawa shimano quantum or abu. pinnacle seems to offer a lot more reel for less money. that money has to come from somewhere so they use cheap bearings and gears good luck with them I’ll stick to Abu Garcia
I recently accquired my 1st Pinnacle reel , cant remember the model (its in my boat ) but i do know it has 10 bb and other than my shimano’s it’s the only reel I have on tourney day, it’s a little heavy compared to my curados, but it is very smooth, reels great and will cast a country mile and has a high speed retrive , I normally use it for buzz baiting.
Come to think of it I do have a pinnacle rod, I forgot i got it as a door prize at a tourney last year , havent really used it , but if I remember correctly it seemed to be a nice rod.
All in all Ithink they are pretty decent products for the money.
P.S. they are made by Silstar.
The rods aren’t bad, but be VERY leary of the reels.
I use to manage a fishing dept at a big tackle dealer and we got almost every “Dead Bolt” series reel we sold returned due to gear failure. The gears are cheaply made and the bearings made from “rusty nails”, (lol)!
Be CAREFUL!
I don’t mind their rods, i own one but Ive only used it one and wasn’t amazed by the quality and as others have said, don’t bother with their reels, very poor quality.
I purchased 12 new reels last year and only 1 failed me, it was the platinum plus 100 one of there cheapest bait casters the spool speed cap is made of plastic (all other pinnacle models have a metal cap) and the threads had stripped I replaced it with a metal cap and its back in action! My favorite reels are the sentara’s I have 2 of these and they performed as good as my $160.00 shimano curodo’s! I have 4 solene’s, 4 inertia finesse’s 2 sentara’s 2 platinum plus100′s and just purchased 2 vision xlt’s outside of the above mentioned all these reels performed great! I fish alot of bass tournemounts and really rely on my gear. My only complaints are there reels are only offered in right hand retrieve, one spool size, one retrieve speed and limited dealers.
