I have a Pinnacle (Platinum Plus, model LP100) baitmaster reel, and it seems to keep on getting fouled up…?

I tried to cast with it, and the entire thing just got fouled up, couldn't do much except cut it. I put 7 more sinkers on it(I had 1) and it seems to work fine, but my Dad thinks it's another problem. Did I cure the problem, or did I just treat the symptons, not the cause?

Thanks. That was the problem! I tried to solve it with a buncha sinkers(Which, does help, apparently-But I only needed 1 more, not 7)
Thanks. It now catches everything, good lure too!...Shirts, grass, trees, shoes, jeans, cars, sandals, shirts, big air, shirts, friend I tricked via 20 dollar bill and lure, shirts, blinds, shirts, fake trees, shirts, mantle, shirts, fireplace, shirts, game consoles, cords, and SHIRTS!

try tightening the cast control knob ( it is the knob next to the crank). you want it to be just tight enough so that when you press the casting button( your thumb) the bait, lure, etc should just barely fall. if that doesn’t cure it than maybe you are casting to hard ;) hope this helps.

One of the main problems I have had with fishing line is that it is always filled too much. I always had to cut some off as it tangles. The machines but too much line on the reels. It should be okay when you have a little less line and use your finger as a guide to reel in smoothly. I love Power Pro braided line . It is tough and goes through lily pads and other vegetation and I have even pulled up many branches with it. The down side is that if it wraps around a tree, you will have to cut it with a knife. It also doesn’t give like monofilament, but I have had my best luck with Power Pro and haven’t lost any big fish with it either. I pulled in a huge snapping turtle with it and can’t do that with other line. The sinkers aren’t the problem but having the right weight of a sinker can help. Hope this helps.
